Ph.D Chemist/Senior Scientist
Synthonics Inc. has an immediate opening for a Ph.D Chemist/Senior Scientist with
a degree in synthetic inorganic chemistry with proven expertise in metal coordination
chemistry. Requires 3+ years experience in synthesis, characterization, and purification
of coordination compounds and expertise in NMR, FTIR, Mass Spectrometry, and X-ray
Crystallography. Working knowledge of dissociation constants, binding constants,
partition coefficients and Raman Spectroscopy is beneficial. Preference will be
given to candidates with experience in metal based drugs, pharmacology, or who have
worked in the pharmaceutical industry.

Research Scientist:
Synthonics, Inc., a specialty pharmaceuticals company based in Blacksburg, VA is
currently seeking a Research Scientist to assist drug discovery scientists in the
experimental design of pre-clinical animal trials for therapeutic compounds. The
qualified candidate will be responsible for pharmacokinetic studies involving laboratory
animals. The specific tasks include dosing, anesthesia, collection of samples, performing
some basic surgical techniques, recording of data, and presentation of results in
the appropriate form to the scientists. Educational requirements; Bachelor of Science
degree or equivalent experience in Animal Science, Biology, or related discipline
with a minimum of 2 years animal handling experience. Certification as Animal technician
or LAT/LATG preferred. Chemistry lab experience highly desirable. For immediate
